Description
The city of Chefchouen, Morocco is built into the side of a mountain and I struggled sometimes while wandering around this enchanting village. This old man inspired me to keep on climbing!

This was certainly “The right place at the right time” !....the interplay between light and shadows would make this a fine image by itself, but the climber was captured at exactly the right time to make a perfect composition !
Andrea Whitaker replied:
Thanks, Doug! I actually have a few shots without the old man that are pretty good. I like to capture real people but I hate pointing a camera at them. This one was a stealth shot - lucky shot!

Hi, Andrea, I voted for this photograph in the Which Do You Prefer contest. I like both your entries showing this shadowy alley, but if I can, I sometimes like to include a local in my travel photographs. This one is beautiful, not only with the man, but the light and shadows. l/f
Andrea Whitaker replied:
Hi Kay - Thanks for your comments. I agree - I prefer to see local people in my photos but I have such a hard time pointing a camera in their faces. This one was a stealth shot!
